the descriptions of the setting truly tugs at your heartstrings and i've never been to nebraska. maybe i should go. never was planning on doing that

After hearing someone mention that this was their favorite book, I decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did. There are so many layers to this story that I enjoyed. The tragedy, the youthful joy, the memories we share with one another, but most interesting is actually the real life behind the story and learning about Willa Cather. I am planning on reading more of her work.

jim just bopping around

I may finish this book today if time allows. There are so many beautiful passages. I felt the story slow down early in the 2nd section of the book, but it eventually paid off with the story telling. I'm currently thinking of the Latin texts in the 3rd section, optima dies... prima fugit, the best days are the first to flee.
