The pain in my heart shot up and slapped my face. Grandma once talked about Guardian Angels and how they help us do what doesn't come naturally. Well, if mine was around that night, he was beating me with a cry-stick.

I am halfway through and enjoying this novel. The characters are engaging, the dialogue is natural, and the story entertains--with a little historical education thrown into it. Thank you, James Aura.

Uhm, so this young Auburn Student takes his grandmother to the hospital. Grandmother dies and the boy is struck with lust for the nurse who had. Been his dead daddy's lover. Uh-Huh. What is this? A Kentucky version of Oedipus Rex?

This book is more about a Kentucky family than about Vietnam, but it is thoroughly enjoyable. It does have a Vietnam connection though which is part of the mystery

Starts off really fast paced. I like it so far.

Fascinating story, it moves fast. Really like the main character. Deft writing drives it forward. Enjoying this.

Love the characters, the neurotic hero, the smart coed and the bimbo sorority girl...
it took a little while but the mystery is engrossing now...
