Status Updates From Ring of fear

Definitely a product of its time, in a realistically depressing way. Fashion sense and attitudes are 70s as all get out, down to the ascots and flared pants, treatment of women, and the fact that nearly all the characters spend most of the book high as a kite on weed.

I'm not sure I'm feeling this one. It's both incredibly dated (treatment of rape victims) and incredibly racy for the time (how did this book get published in 1971 with sex scenes this graphic?!) Also the heroine manages to be both incredibly annoying and gullible at the same time. I still want to finish this, but I don't think I'll revisit this anytime soon after I'm done.
