Status Updates From The Third Thaw

Sick of discovering Earth on a new planet. DNF

now a science slog. I want to know what happens, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm really not invested in any of the characters

slow with a focus on the kids learning and not much else happening. Not particularly building interest in the individuals either.

That was an underwhelming section.

Onto part 5.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Ulrich is actually Hitler. Just instead of people, he has a robot army behind him. And maybe a god or two.

Part 3 done. I bet, with part 4, with all the women conveniently pregnant, having "passed" their sex ed class (/facepalm), it'll be the men who go on adventuring to the technobabble object.

I am ~2/3rds of the way through this book and I still haven't met this dude "Ulrich" yet who is mentioned ON THE BACK COVER.

Could it be that this "Ulrich" fellow is part of the missing group (*gasp*) who went to visit the technobabble object (*gasp*) and is now the leader of the robot army? (*GASP*)

Reviewing this should be very cathartic.

I am cringing so hard now. So so hard. I feel like I'm reading a keikii book and this is an excuse for both bringing back a dead character and forcing a baby into the story.

Sex is a whole other topic that is also cringe in the book. But not nearly as bad as I'm cringing now.

No. Just no.

I am skimming the majority of the book. At least there are other humans, so I guess that's a plus?

Part two done.

Mildly interested = all the infodumps!!

Also, this journey is going too smoothly. Way too smoothly.

Finished part 1, on to part 2. With some semblance of plot and pacing, I'll probably stick with it...

In a surprising twist that shocked exactly no one, the future MC is the grandson of the present MC.

I figured out why I am having so many problems with the book. Well, at least one of them. The story is told in 3rd person limited, which means we get into the mind of a character.
See, the thing is, in this book, the viewpoint character changes like every few paragraphs. Plz no.
Also, I swear, this book is an eternal infodump. ALL THE SCIENCE!

Less infodumpy, which is good, but I still don't really care for the characters.
