A witness comes forward and tells the police about the car driver, which is a clear act of selflessness because it could help bring out the truth even if it causes trouble for them. The driver is still trying to avoid responsibility and protect himself, which contrasts with the witness’s honesty. Nora continues to process everything emotionally, but she is less involved in the actual investigation.

The driver still avoids telling the truth, protecting himself instead of taking responsibility, which clearly shows a lack of selflessness. Nora is also more focused on her own feelings and decisions, sometimes pulling away from others instead of supporting them. Other characters make choices based on fear or self-protection, showing how difficult it is for them to act selflessly.

This section focuses more on the characters and their choices. You see how the driver struggles with guilt but still avoids taking responsibility, which shows he is not acting selflessly. Nora is dealing with grief, but she also starts thinking more about herself and her own life rather than others. overall many actions are driven by fear or self-interest. It really shows how Nora react differently under pressure.

This book was awesome. I had a phenomenal time reading it. The final stretch of the book really had me on my toes, especially the plot twist that A.J. was the killer and not Anderson. I'm glad that Nora was able to get justice for Driss. I hope that the baby Nora is having is Jeremy's kid; if not, that is really upsetting. There was just so much that happened that I wish it were just a bit longer.

I really hope that Nora ends up taking over the restaurant, makes tons of money, and gets married to Jeremy. That could be a stretch, but the satisfaction of proving her sister and mom wrong would be awesome. Aside from that, I think Nora will end up coming in contact with Efraín, or Efraín will step up and say something to Colemen. This could be the turning point in the story that helps Nora get justice for Driss.

Dotes are starting to connect. They have evidence that the baker did the hit-and-run, just not high enough standards of proof. They are in the last stretch of completing this case. It seems as if the family is starting to go back to normal activities and growing back together.
