Chapter 3 Review
What does it mean to be a martyr? Must you die because of the cause, or for the cause. Marina can’t be taken to the FSS safe house for family of Martyrs, but they will be taken to a refugee camp in Mississippi. Oh what a folly that was, as the war would never reach the Chestnut house or any of the surrounding land.

The war ravages on, as the main characters father, Benjamin Chestnut, was killed in an assassination plot at the Union HQ in Baton Rouge. It is only the first 2 months of the war, and Sarat knows true loss, sadness, and anger.

Chapter 1 Review:
“A house divided against itself cannot stand” again. This world was tearing itself apart over fossil fuels, and a young girl is in the middle of it all, not understanding the problems growing in front of her. North against South, but instead of slaves and “state’s rights”, it is on oil and “personal liberties”.
