Why do they need to find and erase these tapes? They want to destroy Harlan, sure, but why put their asses on the line to clear the names of whoever he's blackmailing? And don't say it's out of the goodness of their hearts. Carson is the only one who stands to lose any reputation, and he seemed ready for that before.

Every character kinda just feels the same. Like, they're inconsistent and just get all mushed up into each other. It doesn't matter who gets a particular line of dialogue, because they all speak the same way, aside from like. Josie.

The blackmail Charlie had on Steele is that... as a soldier, he.. wiped out an enemy target in Afghanistan...? Wrong time, sure, but right target. The military would already know about it. He's not military anymore, and they clearly didn't arrest him or anything. His work isn't exactly legal, it's not like he has to divulge his whole background, and whoever does a check prob won't care. Who is he hiding this from...?

If this is set up as a series where each of the 5 guys gets a book with their own "case" to deal with, it's kinda weird that Carson seems to be the key player in this one rather than Steele...

Look... insta lust on ONE character's side can work. Like, Steele seems like an absolute pig, so of course he's on about Breck's fine ass. But Breck just letting Steele be all over him, then crawling into Steele's lap as a big show in front of everyone to like, what, somehow prove that he's not vulnerable? It's not sexy without some build up, some tension.

Switched to reading, because the audiobook wasn't doing it for me. Anyway. Alvarez is an absolute pig. It can be cute or funny in a character (yet to decide whether he gets that pass), but if he were a real man... ugh, gross.

Jfc WHY do they DO this??? They get two different narrators, yknow, so each of the leads can have their pov sound distinct. But then they won't use the "right" narrator for dialogue in the other character's pov, so like, steele or alvarez or whatever sounds completely different in breck's pov than he does in his own. And by god, I do not like his voice in breck's pov. You have two voice actors, so use them both!?

The twin's voice (ridge?) is annoying. Why'd they do him so dirty like that... I don't like Breck's voice either :| and the whole set up is uhh.. dumb. We'll see if I get as far into this as I did the last one. They got worryingly close to glorifying prostitution, saying it's empowering n shit, but thankfully they turned around last second and said "til I got the shit beat outta me and realized I wasn't safe"

?? Second audiobook in a row that's starting me out with a "cast" list? Bruh, just introduce them to me in story when it's relevant. I'm not going to remember any of this.
