Status Updates From Tin Man

Ellis finishes Michaels journey. He travels back to france of Michaels old home where he lived with sunflowers and in that home finds the one photograph of him Annie and Michael. He finally reconciles in the memory of his best friend, lover, and his forever bond he had with all of them

1990- Older Michael sees two men at a restaurant.
“I look at these young men, not in envy but in wonder. It is for them now, the beauty of discovery, the endless moonscape of life unfolding.”

Pas Michael tells G a story about cicadas emerging from the soil every few years. He compares it to the gay community.

“We all had to come out of the dark to sing”

1969-Before they returned home Michael wished they missed the train so their life can be together but that doesnt happen. Those 9 days in France was the only time they were romantically involved and they never let him go. He never loved like that again

Past Michael and Ellis have sex for the first time in their France vacation.

Michael confesses to Chris that his first and only love was and is Ellis. “we had eachother and neither wanted more”

In his journal- Michael describes how he told a dying 21 year old Chris that he thinks love is overrated and this offends him because Chris would’ve reveled in it.
