A proposal before war is crazy but I am swooning. It’s not even the main couple but it’s eating nonetheless

The author says the MC is blonde with blue eyes, and I'm just not buying it. She's Asian. Argue with the wall. Also, like... why are dystopian romances so fast-paced? Why are we falling for a man we barely know? We get it, he's hot, but get over yourself. Touch some grass (or in her case, snow)

I can just tell this was written in 2018 (19?) like the prose is so… 2010-16 dystopian coded. Not very pretty. But like not bad?

So I'm dnf:ing this book... It's problematic and genuinely unappealing to me. I'd rather watch a cheesy Christmas blockbuster film than read about these uncannily happy rich people waltzing their way into a dreadful war like it's a vacation.

I already have some problems with this. According to some reviews, this book is apparently racist toward the natives of the US? And like... I do see some resemblance, even though this is a fantasy book.
Like the worldbuilding is "The United Nations of the Spire".
They see themselves as better than those in the war, they go on exclusive tours of the place like it's exotic, and they see them as violent people..
