I am a complete bawling mess after the Rooty story and talk of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. How will I finish this book?!? My empathy for animals overwhelms me sometimes.

I took in 7 foster cats in Dallas in September 2005 who had survived the hurricane and I cry for them too. All I can do is pray they experienced good lives before passing on, which surely most of them have by now.
