The way history changes through generations, from pretty much kidnapping families to an unknown fate in Africa to thinking it was a choice people made due to economic conditions. I’m a bit confused about where trailers came from and how they’d end up in people’s yards…

The people in this family do pretty unlikeable things, I’m not sure what the author’s goal is with this story.

Kath Ella is feeling like an unreliable narrator, does she just blame her friend for everything but she actually is the instigator? If she’s stealing money it’s harder to believe she’s as innocent as she claims…

Two hours in, not loving the character, not convinced she has any aspirations for her life despite her desire to go to college and travel, can’t tell this is happening during the Great Depression, was it just not that big of a deal in Canada? Maybe a man trying to write a sex scene from a woman’s perspective is enough to turn me off the book entirely…
