The jump in logic here, particularly when the intervening text makes it sound like she's just going to help Lydia get to know the girls...what.

'Why would I ask her? She's only seven. I know what looks best around her face'" (206). Okay so mom is also insane here, but that doesn't mean Emma is right to be hurt about not having a commitment from her employer slash lover when the mother of his children is there

After looking it up, I am no closer to having answers. If it was mahogany the color, why the hyphen? One of the many mysteries of this book
