Status Updates From Aug 9 - Fog⁠

This'll be a really quick read because there are like 10 words per page. It makes me think, at what point does someone else's work "become" yours? I mean, considering the whole category of blackout/erasure poetry... I feel like this work falls under that umbrella. Where do you draw the line between source and new creative work? How do you recognize/acknowledge the words and intentions of the original author?

to be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the premise of this book. sure, it's intriguing, but at the same time, I can't help but feel that rearranging/editing/re-stitching together the contents of someone else's diary (even if it was purchased at an estate sale) and then publishing it is, on some level, still a violation of that person's privacy and life?
