Status Updates From History of Philosophy

All the linguistic philosophy, theory of mind, passages on Sartre, and hermeneutics (Gadamer) chapters were very interesting.

This book is taking years off my life

I dont find this book particularly conductive to understanding philosophy. Perhaps its simply a skill issue but I feel like I'm walking with a lot more names and a knowledge of the peoples history but not a particularly solid understanding of the actual philosophies

I think the issue with this book is that it has no solid way. The train of thought or the the reasoning behind the logic doesn't flow and i feel like im just being blasted with information

I think interest in the topic is really carrying through the book, I dont find that the author particularly generates that interest with the exception of a few cases

Probably a victim of bad ancient sourcing, but a lot of the presocratian philosophers have a very inconsistent and jumbled kind of feeling in their descriptions
