This book is mandatory for fans of classics. I loved it so much due to the fact that it is a love story imbedded in a description of 18th century in France. The details are very interesting to be found there (clothing, architecture, religious thoughts, political involvement) and they amplify the dramatic tense. The fact that this story turned to be tragic in the end shocked me. I highly recommend it!
