Status Updates From The War of the Worlds

I am not a sci-fi lover, but that doesn't stop me from trying over and over!

Bravo... i was wondering how possibly could the story end, but then the ending came in such a logical and fitting way. While reading i was afraid that the sci fi elements might be outdated but it turned out not. It's still relevant, and surely serve as a thought exercise for humans of all ages.

I crept out of the house like a rat leaving its hiding place—a creature scarcely larger, an inferior animal, a thing that for any passing whim of our masters might be hunted and killed.
