“The Raiding of Rowanheath” by J.D. Astra - guessing this is one of those "told from another perspective" stories, so unless I've read enough of the Cataclysm series, I'm going to be lost. May skip.

“The Funeral Parlor” by Raymond Johnson - DNF; bored by spider-narrator. The first story was gripping enough and not overly reliant on knowing what had happened in the VGO-verse previously. This one... Not really sure what was going on or why I should care. Not feeling this one.

A Gentleman's Work by James A Hunter - A darn fine action-adventure side story where thief extraordinaire Cutter gets to show of his Smugness ability amoungst others. Just maybe find another word for describing Amara's skin tone; gunmetal got repeated and sounded off as a consequence. Also sad to find that Cutter is only a side character in VGO. Not sure Jack sounds so interesting.

OMG this is like a really good Forgotten Realms novel (only I'm missing info because this happens during/after the Cutter VGO series, so only myself to blame). Forgot how exciting it was to read adventure fantasy that's not too heavy nor too anaemic. So going to have to read more of this one.
