I'm enjoying this, but it's the sort of book I read in fits and starts, so sometimes the big picture eludes me. I think as long as I remember that the British are the bad guys, I should be okay.

I'm only in the prologue, which is largely a summary of the author's first book, The Road to Guilford Courthouse, but it's already living up to my expectations of John Buchanan. Lots of direct quotations, balanced view of history, skillful research and engaging writing. One of the few books I've bought without previewing it, and I don't regret it.
