Oh my word!!! I’m trying SO HARD not to cry right now…I was listening to this at work while doing a mindless task and I am HORRIFIED. Evil has come to Perelandra. Ransom!! For goodness sake, save the Lady from Weston and the Bent One! RUN!! (So much for work. CS Lewis is a MASTER storyteller. I need to just focus on work or I’m going to burst into tears and scare everyone.

Another Eden, with another Snake and Adam and Eve, only this time Ransom is there to try to prevent the fall. Weston…he’s a sad and pathetic character when you realize that he allowed himself to be manipulated by evil and didn’t realize it until it was too late and he didn’t have the wherewithal to ask for help from the right place. It seems so obvious, outside of the situation.

Finally getting back into reading, and I love how obscure and strange this writing is, yet still somehow very clear and vivid and imaginative. It truly feels alien. I’m glad I’m back to this!
