My Shakespeare group Dec. 2025 read the Sonnets instead of a play. I started them in November, but reading each sonnet, related notes and commentary takes me 20+ minutes (there are 154 of them!), so I did't finish by the end of December. Other group members admitted that they did not finish either and pledged to just continue on, trying to read one each day until they finished. That is what I will do also.

skipped the intro obviously… why is shakespeare so obsessed with this man and making sure he has children because he is so beautiful that the world needs to see more of him… i knew his ass was gay.

Really enjoying this; it is hard work, but well worth it. I’ll be stuck at this for a long while before finishing!
Each sonnet I have to read several times and make notes of to get the most out of it, but when you get into it, the song in the language is incredibly striking.
Just read S.18, the famous: “Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day?” and it honestly had my heart racing.

os primeiros sonetos são basicamente Shakespeare a gritar "FAZ UM FILHOOOOO"
