Status Updates From Love à la Mode

Man, all those dishes served at the École Thanksgiving sound wonderful. (And some of them I've never even heard of!) But Chef Martinet is really mean to Rosie. She never seems to like any of her dishes no matter how hard she tries! Is it wrong that I wish Martinet would be fired? At least Bodie is a good friend and willing to accept being just friends with her.

Two thirds through the book. And this is a perfect example of poor communication kills meaningful relationships. I suppose this was inevitable given the pacing of the romance, but still. If Henry had just been honest (with his mom, with Rosie or anyone really) about how much his coursework had been taking a toll on him, this likely could have been avoided.

Okay, that was surprisingly fast. Maybe too fast. We still have half the book left! Still, the picnic scene was cute. And all these galettes and crepes are making me hungry at 3 in the morning. I especially like that rose-shaped tart Henry got for Rosie. But seriously, I want an egg, Gruyere and ham galette, a banana nutella crepe, and all the croissants! And maybe a mirror egg too.

And the students prepare for a night out on the town. And the first post test cooking lesson seems really tame in comparison to what Chef Martinet made them do. However, it seems like the romance is a little bit fast to form.

Okay, this just got interesting. The first test has just begun! I can really sense Rosie's disappointment. I do hope that Chef Laurent shows up at the end though. So we have Henry, Rosie, Yumi, Bodie, Clara, Hampus, and Priya, among possible other unnamed students. With Madames Besson and Chef Martinet overseeing the education. Man, a French omelet sounds really good right now. Add a croissant too!

So we got dual POVs, a girl who apologizes a lot, a mom who doesn't believe in her son, and a whole lot of dreams that our protagonists. I'm really surprised that Rosie doesn't seem scared at the prospect of being stuck next to new parents on the flight. But Henry's at least nice to her. Looking forward to reading this!
