The story premise is fine. I like the genre as a whole. The problem with the book comes from the structure. Chapters seem to mean nothing other than just putting a number. And while I enjoy descriptive authors that paint pictures in your mind that just draw you in like Robin Hobb for example, this book doesn’t quite hit that mark with its over explaining and descriptions.

All those exclamation marks!! I usually don’t notice them while reading, but with this one, once you see them you really cannot unsee them.
Aside from that, a promising start to a series.
