Very sly humor in many ways. A peak into the mind of boys. The characters are so well written and sympathetic, esp Sean Harding, the class clown hiding his grief over his parents' separation & the anti-Irish bias faces by his father.
Mult POVs - 1st person, 3rd person, diary entries, letters.

The end of the 1st sectionw the pub bombing killing Malcolm & injuring Lois Trotter was so shocking & sad.

Great characters.
