Status Updates From Bridgers Box Set: Books 1-3

Book 1 done.
I definitely like how this book tried to be realistic, I would classify it as hard scifi.
The overall plot wasn't terribly surprising, but that's ok, it was more of a survival action story than an intellectual scifi.
Definitely enjoyed it. I'll probably tackle book 2 soon.

The reviews saying we wouldn't want to put the book down were right.
Definitely intense.
I also appreciate that it's not entirely BS, most words I've googled were real and various elements are seemingly plausible.

Aside from that, based on the book descriptions it sounds like this story will go exactly as I expected.

Well, that's certainly a rough start...

I guess we know the hook for book 2... the second signal.
Honestly, they should wait until the signal is translated. I'm sure given the reason, and the amount they are paying, the company would permit them to reschedule.

Yeah... the world is acting flakey after you start using alien technology without understanding it...
As useful as it is, I'd want to know why they sent it before using it.

We were dumped immediately into a life or death action scene that gave a good understanding of the setting. The info dump after they escaped was both natural and helpful in understanding the setting.

This book is essentially the tv show sliders set in a world which perfected sliding technology (with the only flaw being only living organic matter would transfer)

This is a box set, so I'll mark off each individual book as I read them...
That will likely bloat my year end count by 1, but really there are so many books I don't log that it doesn't matter .
