Especially excellent graphic novel to read this week. Iracema drifts away from her village and runs into a slave that was brought by the Portuguese to Brazil. It seems to be set in the territory that is now Paraguay and Brazil.... the guaraní spanned both countries, and they refer to their god as Tupa, who was the god of the guaraní. One of the characters is also named Guaraní. Found this and borrowed from Hoopla.
