Status Updates From Illumination: A Novel

"The concept of marriage is a great illusion. It is more like a friendship, a big friendship that is bigger than other friendships, except that matrimonial beds and abodes permit certain pains and pleasure under the contract of wedded coexistence."

Perhaps one day we will succeed an evolutionary breakthrough where the heart knows how to participate in angst and pain. However that breakthrough might come with an unfortunate scene where we possess animalistic characteristics, I think heart, without responding to those stimulus the way it does will somehow rob us of being humans and the breakthrough would rob it off its ultimate purpose- helping us act as human.

"The heart is a strange thing... So strange that it never occurred to me that it is strange, that no one ever thinks of it as strange, or that strangeness can be attributed to it, or more accurately, that the heart- for all its capacity can harbour angst and pain and doubt for decades and centuries, pain lingering across generations and time- never quite learns how to anticipate or contain hurt. "

"...When will they learn that desire is an infinity thing? There will always be others with more arresting aesthetics: an impressively angled jawline, enviable legs, eyes that render one speechless, a seductive voice, beautiful toes. It is madness to try to engulf it all in, to possess it."

This is one of the book I read some passages at least twice, just to enjoy the brilliant writing again .

Very wordy existential narration. Plotless. Timeless but specific as in a date gates throw around and then we move to a feeling ten years later or prior. Protagonist is nameless. Talk about confusing the enemy...
