Chapter 7 the most famous analogy was great. One cannot agree with all conclusions Plato proposes but its a great piece. Same for the next chapter.

For this extract, they’re discussing about the difference between belief and knowledge. In one instance Socrates mentioned that it’s important to not pick and choose of what you want to learn. He compares it to an analogy of a food lover: you cant be a food lover if you choose to only eat certain food or a music lover if you only attend some musicals and not attend the rest.

Very Interesting so far. This is my first dive into philosophy and I am must say I am surprised, very pleasantly, by how witty, sarcastic, and sometimes straight up funny, the conversations are, as that side of philosophers is rarely shown in in its impressions on the mainstream.

We're finally getting somewhere! The Form of the Good has just been introduced, next section covers the Allegory of the Cave! I feel so proud that I've gotten to this point! It's weird to me how we talk about Plato's theories as something so set in stone when he himself is quite wishy washy with his terms sometimes. Not in a bad way, I just mean that theres nuance and more interpretations than we give him credit for.
