Status Updates From Black Canaan

Finished "The House in the Oaks," which is REH's fragment "The House" as finished by August Derleth. Interesting completion, but I wonder if REH would have had such a Lovecraftian ending of suicide for John Conrad (a recurring character for REH), or if he would have had Conrad fight it off with Herculean effort...

Finished "Delenda Est," about Genseric the Vandal's decision to sack Rome at the bidding of the ghost of Hannibal, and "The Haunter of the Ring," in which the ring of Thoth-Amon of the Hyborian Age is shown to have survived into the modern era.

Read "Black Canaan," a story I have read many, many times. In addition, I read the original draft of "Black Canaan" (not included in this volume, but came from the REH Foundation Press) for comparison. Still one of my favorite REH tales - and the basis for some of the magic I wrote for "Conan: Across the Thunder River."
