The Revisioners had a powerful story about generations of Black women, but the constant back-and-forth between timelines made it hard for me to stay fully invested. Just when I got into one storyline, it switched again. Good themes, but the structure didn’t totally work for me.

Also this book will have you working because you really have to keep up with the timelines or you’ll get confused real quick 😕. The past and present keep weaving together so you gotta stay on your toes.

Josephine telling Link that when they say “friend” they really mean mule 😏 That line hit because she’s clocking how pretty words are used to cover up straight exploitation.

Gladys said her neighbor sprayed floral spray between her legs but the flowers died 😭🤣—the shade, the gossip, the zero filter… I’m screaming 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Back-and-forth timelines have me confused 😔⏳… I’m listening, intrigued, but not fully connecting the past and present yet. Hoping the pieces start snapping together soon 🍿👀.
