Reading False Bingo is akin to my relationship with every short story collection or anthology I've ever read and why I love them so much: No matter how bad it may start, I've never read one where I don't like at least a few of the stories and love one. And usually, as is the case here, if it's one author's collection, the stories get better the further the book progresses. I hope this trend continues.

Oh, I'm getting sooo frustrated here :( Every story (save for the fourth, the last I read) has a premise I love, but it feels like something is missing. I'm just not swept by the writing, which is forgivable, but each story just . . . ends. And in a dissatisfying, anticlimactic way. Every single one, no exaggeration! I want to like this book so bad. I hope it picks up, or I find at least one story I like.

I began this after Bluebeard, craving something that would get under my skin like always. I'm not familiar with Jemc at all (nor are any readers I am familiar with), and it is rather difficult to find any biographical information about her, so this is a true blind read. The first two stories have elements that I like, but I can't say I "like" them. The third story has the makings of a favorite though . . . :)
