Status Updates From The Screwtape Letters

I’ve learned that there is a reason why the Bible says to not rely on feelings, and that is because feelings are the only true ground that demons have against us. It is the only thing that they can truly manipulate to move us toward their cause.

"Keep everything hazy in his mind now, and you will have all eternity wherein to amuse yourself by producing in him the peculiar kind of clarity which Hell affords."

There's something to contemplate.

Hell being a place where you can do nothing but be faced with your own mistakes and how you ended up there. That does not sound pleasant.

"All the habits of the patient, both mental and bodily, are still in our favour."

That is an incredibly frightening thought.
