I’m surprised that I’m not liking this book yet. Roya is whiny, selfish, and dimensionless. Bahman is a dramatic love bomber. You tell me there’s a love story here? I don’t feel it. Let’s see if what happens in the coming pages can turn these generally uninteresting characters around. The only saving grace so far is the historical context.
