Status Updates From Sophocles 1: Oedipus the Ki...

Just finished Antigone. What a sad story. I was shocked by how entertaining it was though, and how the more grounded tragedy felt more modern than the epic poems. Also neat to read the story and immediately recognize where its influence has come in later works.

Really liking Antigone so far. This is more lively and down to earth than the epic poems for sure.

Started Oedipus, throwback to high school sophomore year. Now, I’m a college sophomore reading it! Not feeling that senti, it’s Oedipus.

Finished Antigone. Even though I did not love Creon, i did feel his pain and agony at the end. Quite a frustrating antagonist, I will never like him. Shout out Sophocles, you did a big one there!
