Lowkey I hate this book and I can’t believe just HOW much biblical scholarship has treated it as a sort of quiet gospel of its own

Ok I skipped a chapter but it had nothing to do with what I’m working with rn, but now I’m grabbing for context cues which sucks

part iv of chapter 4 was a drag ngl dgshhrhf mostly because of my lack of interest and knowledge in the subject matter. but overall, ch 4 is my second favorite & the one i took the longest time getting through so far because the amount of times i had to close the book after reading a really painful beautiful thing and spend days trying not to think about it

"Even after the resurrection, he remained embodied: at the very end of Luke, he invited the apostles to look at his hands and to "handle" him to assure themselves he is not a spirit (24:36–40). While they are still "disbelieving for joy," he asks the question that is the universal signal among sentient creatures that they are sentient: "Have you anything here to eat?" .......... no words
