I'm probably giving this book more time than its worth. It is one of those rare books where I struggle to understand why it exists. Who is this for. The personal story is not very inspiring, and as we venture into his mathematics career, little to no effort is being done to make us care. Why do these aspects of math matter? I am sure they do, so tell the fucking story of why. Its more like a series of events.

Kinda wondering the point. That sounds horrible, but I am not getting much out of his personal story. In fact, there's this "pull yourself up from the bootstraps" mentality that turns me off. I'm sticking with it bc I'm hoping for some interesting science/math philosophy at some point.
