What a miracle?!

Okay so I really enjoyed the first half but this next 25% has almost all been talking heads. I do enjoy Joshua being around and his cowardly but miracle believing philosophy. Esther is now immortal due to a spell the woman cast on her. Joshua needs his pocket watch to do magic and his rabbit is an uncommonly strong fae.

So Esther talks to some voices that seem to be gods or fates. She’s being pulled back to life...

Hmmm. Sad, sad, sad. I had guessed about a Joshua and her “mother” but how horrible is it that her own mother sent her to the witch for some reason. Angela turned out to be a sweet girl too. Not sure how she’s going to redeem herself having reaped 13 souls. Funny though Luke zombie risen though he is doesn’t seem a bad fellow telling her the truth.

Hmmmm fascinating! Long, long, long dialogues but I kind of love that?! The protagonist needs to interject more though... still the kids in her class talk. Then we meet the blessers that we saw earlier who picked up her trail. All of these side characters have extraordinary strong presences which make having so many easier to keep separate.

GAHHHH her “mother” is rotten to the core. How horrible she has to help harvest souls for the zombie son. And she’s considered a jinx at school! Is Joshua the boy in the white cloak?

We meet a secret group who finds the dead man.

The dialogue is a bit stilted. Probably due to the English language not being native to the author. Still I find it intriguing how the author cuts things off and gives the reader an opportunity to put things together themselves. It makes for exciting reading!
