I was angry after reading this book. I'm still angry. The US Government has been shameful in its treatment of Native American, and in particular, the Nez Perce, s over the years. Promises made, promises broken. Lies and more lies. Again and again and again. This book is a definitive history of the Nez Perce, from the Lewis and Clark years through Chief Joseph. Highly recommended.
