i don't fully understand the book yet but Darius was introducing the people from the book like, how Trent bullies him, he was talking about how it was stupid for his parents to name him after a historical event and was also talking about their high school chapel hill high school. " mom always said she named me after Darius the great, but i think she and dad were setting themselves up for disappointment" (Khorram 4).

The book got interesting when a few kids from Darius school show up to his work and Darius gets scared immediately. I'm still learning the background with Trent, his bully, but I can tell already Darius has felt out of place since kindergarten when he spent every "game of heads up thumbs up, with [his] head down and thumb up, completely ignored" (Khorram 5).

I don't fully understand why the books start with Darius explaining the importance of tea but I do know he works at a tea shop and has a dream to go to "Rose City Teas" (Khorram 3).

I don't full know the whole story yet but so far I've connected with small details like an inviting family and a family that loves to drink tea. When you are born in a Middle Eastern family you are expected to automatically "like tea" you don't have any other choice, its how they connect in simple ways of get togethers and hangouts with family (Khorram 2).

I like the tea joke they made. This bully is a wimp if I was there I would just be like, your not funny 'fatty' go home and cry abount it. "Trent Bolger shared his last name with Fredegar 'Fatty' Bloger, a Hobbit from 'The Lord of the Rings'" (Khorram 5). I like the LOTR book reference.

We're introduced to Darius, a quieter kid who keeps to himself. He works at a tea shop that he says has a "zero tolerance toward bullying" (Khorram 4).

Darius seems to be rather passive to the bully he endures which i dont understand why.

So far, it's clear that Darius doesn't understand himself very well. He states that his little sister "was only in second grade, with an even more Persian name than mine, and yet she was way more popular than I was. I didn't get it" (Khorram 16). I like the aspect of the reader possibly knowing more than Darius himself.
