ABSENT 3/23 POINT OF VIEW: The book Hocus Pocus is told from 1st perspective, by a man named Eugene. He refers to "I" and "Myself" most of the time and tells his own story. Right on page one it says, "I have been a teacher & a soldier." to tell us about his old careers. Since he's the narrator, we get to understand his thoughts. This point of view allows us to feel like Eugene is talking directly to us.
