Status Updates From Listening to the Beliefs of...

I am officially in love with the words of John Burke and have hardly found a voice in theology I so agree with. I am looking forward to reading more of his work in the future, and for now, the responses he's written to the other authors in this book.

"Honestly, I'm not that interested in internal church debates about who has the right or wrong form of theology or Christian practice if the outcome doesn't impact a hurting, broken world."

I thought of my conversations with Dad while reading Mark Driscoll's chapter which focused mainly on what the emerging church is getting wrong doctrinally in his opinion. Similarly, I thought of my responses to Dad when I read John Burke's response. I'm not sure how I'm going to respond to the other authors, but I'm excited to see what John Burke has written regarding the emerging church in the next chapter.
