‘Don’t try to control the breath or to breathe in any particular way. Just observe the reality of the present moment, whatever it may be. When the breath comes in, you are just aware - now the breath is coming in. When the breath goes out, you are just aware. And when you lose your focus and your mind wanders, you are just aware your mind has wandered from your breath’

Ça fait très bizarre de lire les premiers chapitres en 2026. Toutes ces prédictions et ces alertes sur les catastrophes à venir qui sont actuellement en cours, en particulier l’essor de l’IA et le chômage de masse.

Really interesting view on immigration and religion.
1. Host country allows in immigrants
2. Immigrants must ‘assimilate’ (to what extent?)
3. Immigrants may become first class citizens.
Never really thought it could be conceptualised as simply as that, but naturally all three are up for debate as to what extent.
I really enjoyed chapters on nationalism, and rise of global issues + redundancy of religion.
