Started off with telling story of Hattie being hung by town people for being a witch. Then goes to present day and main characters are Helen and Nate-married couple wanted different change of pace of life and moved to old ground where Hattie’s house once was but got burned same night she died. Other characters are Olive-9th grader,mom left for other dude but found her necklace in bog years later in present time
