This is an eye-read paperback, but I hope to make good progress because it’s Christmas and theoretically I should have lots of time to read.

For someone who is already poor with historical facts, the "real" emails included in this are confusing and making this a bit of a slog despite the premise being interesting and the sensory details of the novel coming through strong. This book is textured and grimy and gross and I'm gonna keep at it even though it's taking me a million years.
