No sé qué tiene este libro que me tiene fascinadísima.

There is clearly a conspiracy underfoot. What I don’t know is if I care about it.

Given Mahit’s grandiose paranoia, I’m tempted to say she’s annoying and a bit delusional. But she did arrive at this City to find that her predecessor had been murdered. And now there’s a blast in the place she’s eating and meeting with his liaison at. It’s easy to make connections where none should be.

The question is : should no connection be made here?

Something exciting has happened oh! Bomb bomb bomb!! Finally.

This is my 3rd SFF this week. This is likely the slowest paced one. It feels like a murder mystery. The space stuff seems to have receded since the FMC is in a city. Names are confusing. Martine relies on descriptions, which make me listen to certain sections without acutely following. I’m interested in knowing what happened with Yskander and that’s the only thing of note that has occurred so far.

Interesting prologue. General idea of the world that we’re in or at least that is a space opera with an expanding space empire and smaller vassals.
