One way was through describing the ayat comparing Allah swt to a Light of Lights, explaining that since all is dependend on Allah swt the dunya is not eternal but rather dependent and thus temporarily on Allah swt.

Arabic had to become a philosophical language. Opponents of "bastardizing" Arabic said that Arabic shouldn't become a philosophical language as the Quran was revealed in Arabic and bastardizing would distort the revelation. Proponents said that, due to the universal language of logic, the revelation would never be distorted even if Arabic were to change. Arabic did become a philosophical language.
