1. I don’t know if I can like any of the aliens. The women who are not chosen as mates are sold as slaves, along with the men.
2. So far, I really dislike Paris. Obviously the poor nutrition she suffered living on the street for 5 years has affected her ability to reason.

I didn't finish the book. I stopped about 4 chapters in. I just couldn't get into it

I believe this will end up being DNF soon....

Paris is really annoying! She has been living on the streets and is opinionated and independent.
The Commander tells her thhat she is hs mate... she tells him to put her with the others then realises her mistake
She has appointed herself as champion for the humans still in cages... but most treat her with derision.
She feels attraction to the Commander but keeps denying it.
Who the hell says 'Stink!??'

(Tapping out) this story is boring as hell. The slavery theme is irritating and offensive. The writing is not great . Lots of repeating and very chatty.
