Status Updates From Rogue Queen

The people on this planet are like ants: a queen lays eggs and is served by male drones. Everyone else is a sterile female worker. When a spaceship from Earth shows up it threatens to upset the social order.

The Anthony Boucher puff quote on the cover is the worst. “That rarest of items: a completely new science-fiction plot.” Wow. That demeans the entire genre. It makes me less interested in reading this book. Why would a quote that denigrates science fiction make me want to read a science fiction book?

I respect L. Sprague de Camp, so I’ll give this book a shot, but my respect for Boucher is rapidly dwindling.
