Status Updates From Welcome To The Monkey House

My boyfriend gave me this to read and it’s super good so far but i have a bad habit of crinkling the pages of books while i read and I’m having a really hard time not crinkling the pages of this book bc I don’t own it and I don’t want to return it to him all fucked up

Got damned teary eyed at the end of the story “P.D.” about this black German orphan boy. “The Hyannis Port Story” is quite dryly funny, poking fun at a loser conservative old man (a Goldwater voter!) who is resentful of the Kennedys. Then it ends on a rather sweet, forgiving note that would not have been the way I would ended it. Vonnegut is too nice.

i will finish this in a few hours. book club tn
