what a banger. I loved it, original jobs, great attention to detail, the romance happens at the same time they're both going through major job changes

*present day Deepa popping in. It does in fact ramp up a lot. There's initiation of relations and so we have the timing or not. But also not quite a manic pixie dream girl situation but definitely goes into who are we out of a special day who are we to each other on ordinary. But they also both spark each other in a way.

There's not any crazy flirting but they're nice to each other at times. That little thing is just organic. I love this. Ben is thinking I have no real friends because how could they have not introduced us. Very low-key. Very fun

Naya is also in a weird place. She doesn't know how to feel about her business. An opportunity to make her tour group more solid financially comes up. She's very reluctant because she doesn't want to be contracted. Her last job became something that she couldn't enjoy anymore.

Characters in their thirties. We follow Ben a speech writer for a politician who was fired. We are in the aftermath on the day of. He gets on a bus thinking it is a shuttle but is in fact a tour bus. He joins the tour: Naya is the tour guide. It's her venture. They know of each other because Naya also used to work for the government but not with him.

i read this on the first of may. then did not return to this since that afternoon. i just returned last night for the last couple of pgs. i genuinely enjoyed this bk but I am just not in any headspace. i gave my opinion of the book before that night. i still enjoyed the book but I am not as emotive right now nor do i want to be. Esguerra is on my list for potential new faves. 2/2 of her bks have exceeded expectations
