PAUSE. In no actual terms would a biologist "freeze dry" a leech. I am marine taxonomist and my literal profession is identifying invertebrates from aquatic systems. In this case you would preserve the leech COMPLETELY intact in ethanol or formalin. My biologist flabbers were gasted when she said she freeze dried it. It is now completely un-identifiable and I am judging the book for this🙄
